Our experience – Commercial
PT Projects are experienced in working on commercial projects ranging from fit-outs to construction, including offices, restaurants, retail, and hospitality areas.
Probably the best examples of our capabilities in these areas are the projects we have completed for Virgin Atlantic Airways and Fifteen. See also Strada and Wilkinson Vintners.
Virgin
We have worked with Virgin Atlantic Airways on Upper Class Lounges in the UK and abroad, including the unique and highly acclaimed 30,000sq. ft new Heathrow lounge, which was awarded 'Best of Show' in the prestigious Design Week Awards 2007.
When operating outside the UK, Virgin Atlantic Airways use our quantity surveying services to achieve best value. We manage budgetary aspects of a project, procure contractors and consultants, and ensure that local contractors remain subject to strict cost and quality control. In short, we do everything possible to make sure that finished projects meet Virgin's exacting requirements.
Working with Virgin Atlantic Airways has given us an understanding of cost information, contracts and procurement worldwide. It has also given us valuable experience of the U.S. market, where contractors are not used to Quantity Surveyors or being challenged by professionals with expert knowledge of planning and costing practices. Fifteen and associated companies
At one point, Jamie Oliver's original 'Fifteen' restaurant project appeared to be unachievable and was proceeding at risk when PT Projects were brought in and asked to turn it around.
In order to resolve the project, we had to co-ordinate individual subcontractors, liaise with neighbours, negotiate access, and manage the resolution of environmental and planning issues.
'Fifteen' is now a successful restaurant and PT Projects have also been involved in turning the ground floor bar and deli into a trattoria.
Other projects for this client include fitting out of offices and a commercial bakery. Back to top
Strada
PT Projects were approached by Universal Design Studios to assist with initial budgetary work for a new restaurant concept/design for Strada at Birmingham ICC.
The project had a very limited budget and the challenge was to deliver a new and exciting look for Strada, working within both the budget and the extremely noise-sensitive environment of a very busy conference centre and concert hall.
The project was successful and PT Projects have now been appointed by Strada to work on their new premises at St.Katherines Dock in London. Back to top
Wilkinson Vintners
Wilkinson Vintners are wholesale fine wine merchants specialising in Cru Classe Bordeaux, Burgundy and Vintage Port. In 2002, Wilkinson Vintners commissioned PT Projects to provide full Quantity Surveying Services in connection with their planned move to a new purpose-built warehouse and office facility in Chagford Street.
The project required the demolition of an existing 2 storey mews property and the construction of the new 3 storey property, which comprises warehouse and storage facilities to the ground floor, offices, meeting room and private terrace to the first floor, and a unique one bedroom apartment to the top floor with roof terraces to the front and rear.
