New 3-screen cinema with bar and restaurant in Hoxton, London

Curzon opened the new Hoxton cinema in 2021, which had previously been an old picture house with an historic façade since 1914.

The 730m2 space consists of a new bar and restaurant on the ground floor and a three-screen cinema in the basement.

The minimalist look, clean lines and monochrome palette all meant the works had to be of the highest quality, and there were significant technical issues to resolve with the fire escape requirements for a 300 person basement cinema space.

PT Projects were the Project Managers and successfully delivered the project, although it was on site when the March 2020 Covid pandemic lead to the first and most significant county-wide Lockdown. PT Projects worked with the Contractors to determine how works could re-commence as soon as possible and managed that process very closely to ensure the project complied with the rapidly changing construction site rules. Curzon were handed the project back sooner than anticipated, however further Lockdown rules prevented it from opening until 2021.
