The Wall consists of ten free standing layered resin totems creating a light field to be wandered through and around. The outer faces of each totem provide the surfaces that the athletes signed. gradually turning the pristine transparent ‘pages into a personalised commitment to the values embodied by the Truce Wall. The signatures, applied using opaque ink, built up over the Games to create another layer of reflected light and floating shadows adding to the ever changing kelidescopic effect of the Wall.
After the Games the signed outer layers of each totem panel was handed to the British Olympic Association and the British Paralympic Association. The unsigned inner layers were recycled.
