The first phase comprised the refurbishment of the main worship space to open up the space for future worship and other uses such as nursery provision, music events and conferences. The work included the provision of a new more welcoming entrance area together with a cafe at the entrance for use by members of the general public.
A major challenge was the provision of acoustic panelling at high level and the redecoration of the decorative ceiling all achieved with the use of spider cranes saving a considerable amount of scaffolding over the very large area.
